When you purchase collectible car units on Commody, you become a real, legally registered co-owner of the car.
Each collectible car on the platform is divided into a limited number of collectible units that represent actual, legally recorded ownership. The units you acquire are instantly linked to your Commody account and recorded on the blockchain to ensure transparency and reliability.
Once all collectible units of a car are sold, the vehicle is transferred to a specially created SPV (Special Purpose Vehicle) that represents all co-owners – including the original collector who listed the car on Commody.
The SPV becomes the official owner of the car, registered in the national vehicle registry, while every co-owner receives a digital ownership certificate confirming their legally recognized share.
All cars listed on Commody are held by trusted collectors, museums, or partners and are fully insured under an all-risk collectible vehicle policy. Each car is maintained by professionals according to strict storage and preservation standards.
In the event of theft, damage, or an accident, the collectible insurance policy is activated. It covers losses based on the car’s regularly updated market value to allow for restoration whenever possible. If the car is completely destroyed or lost, the insurance payout is distributed proportionally among all car co-owners.
Your ownership would remain fully protected.
Each car on Commody is managed through a separate legal entity – a Special Purpose Vehicle (SPV) – that operates independently of Commody’s business activities.
Even if Commody were to shut down, your legally registered co-ownership share would remain valid, and the car’s maintenance and management would continue to be handled in accordance with existing legal obligations and agreements.
Such cases have no impact on your share of ownership.
Every car sold on Commody is transferred into a dedicated legal structure – a Special Purpose Vehicle (SPV) – which separates the car from the original owner’s personal assets.
This means that even if the original owner faced legal or financial restrictions, neither the car nor your collectible car units would be affected.
