Commody is a next-generation car collecting platform that enables anyone to become a real car collector, starting from just €25. Here you can invest in carefully selected, rare, and exceptional cars owned by verified collectors, becoming a legally registered co-owner with all the rights, privileges, and experiences that come with it.

Q: How is it possible to own a collectible car starting from €25?

Commody divides carefully selected, rare, and exceptional cars into equal-value parts ( for example, in the case of the Porsche 911 Turbo – €25 per unit ) called collectible car units. By purchasing these units, you become a real, legally registered co-owner of the collectible car, with all the rights, privileges, and experiences that come with ownership – without the need to store or maintain the car yourself.

Q: What are collectible car units?

A collectible car unit represents a share of a car’s ownership. Each car on Commody is divided into a limited number of collectible units, and those who purchase them become officially registered co-owners of the vehicle.

Q: How I purchase collectible car units?

When a car is listed on the Commody platform, it first enters the reservation stage. Reserving collectible car units is completely free – you just need to have an account – and it allows you to be among the first to know when the sale begins. Once the sale opens, you’ll need to verify your identity before purchasing collectible car units. This short, one-time process is securely handled by our trusted KYC partner, Ondato. It’s required so we can legally register your collectible car units in your name. After successful verification, you can pay for your selected number of collectible car units by card or bank transfer through our secure payment partner, Neopay. Once your payment is confirmed, the purchased collectible car units are automatically assigned to your account, and the car will appear in your Commody garage.

Q: What do I get when I purchase collectible car units and become a co-owner?

When you purchase collectible car units, you become a legally registered co-owner of a real car – with all the rights, privileges, and experiences that come with ownership. A digital version of the car appears in your personal garage on Commody, where you can view it anytime, follow its market value, and access exclusive content available only to co-owners. As the car’s market value changes (updated quarterly by our valuation partners), the value of your garage will change too. And most importantly – you’ll join a community of passionate car collectors just like you.

Q: Are there any additional costs – storage, insurance, or maintenance?

No. All storage, insurance, and maintenance responsibilities – along with the related costs – are covered by the car’s original owner, whether it’s a private collector, museum, or partner who listed the car on Commody. As a co-owner, you won’t have any additional expenses.

Q: Will I be able to see the car in person?

Cars featured on Commody are stored in various ways – from public exhibitions to private collections. If a car is kept in a public garage or museum, you’ll have the opportunity to see it in person.

Q: Will I be able to drive the car I co-own?

No. Under Commody’s model, each car is professionally maintained and stored by its original owner – the collector, museum, or partner who listed it on the platform – so co-owners do not drive the vehicle. This ensures the car’s collectible value is preserved – the lower the mileage, the higher the value. For that reason, insurance policies strictly limit annual mileage, usually to around 500 km per year .

Q: How much does it cost to collect with Commody?

Using the Commody platform, browsing collectible cars, and reserving collectible units is completely free. You only pay for the collectible car units you choose to purchase – their price is listed with each car. There are also no extra costs for car storage, insurance, or maintenance – those are fully covered by the car’s original owner.

Q: Will I be able to sell my collectible car units later?

Yes. Starting next year, you’ll be able to buy collectible car units from other collectors – or sell your own – directly through the Commody marketplace.

Where does Commody source its collectible cars from? Are they real?

Every car on Commody is a real, physical vehicle owned by verified private collectors, museums, or partners.

Before being listed, each car is carefully selected, inspected, and appraised based on strict collectible criteria – authenticity, condition, history, and long-term value potential.

Each collectible car on Commody is appraised and updated quarterly by Classic Car Ratings – one of Europe’s largest collectible car valuation companies. The firm has evaluated over 600,000 cars and uses 20 years of historical data covering more than 60,000 models.

The valuation takes into account the car’s condition, originality, specification, market trends, and historical sales data. This ensures that every car offered on Commody is assessed objectively, transparently, and in line with real market conditions.

Commody features only carefully selected cars with true collectible value – models known for their authenticity, heritage, and long-term appeal.

The first collectible car offered on the platform is the 2003 Porsche 911 Turbo (996) – one of the defining icons of the modern Porsche era.

Each car is covered by collectible asset insurance that matches its market value, provided by one of the world’s leading specialty insurers – Arch Insurance.

All cars remain in the care of their original owner, museum, or partner, who is responsible for proper storage, maintenance, insurance, and all related costs as outlined in the agreement with Commody.

This ensures that every car is professionally maintained, and your ownership share is protected both legally and financially.
